David is a director, editor, writer, producer and all-around cinema geek, living & working in Los Angeles.

BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL is his first feature length documentary. The film premiered to great acclaim at the 82nd Venice Film Festival and has played at festivals around the world. Its US theatrical release started in August, 2026 and is now available on VOD. It currently holds a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and is one of the most acclaimed films of 2026.

In 2022, he was the lead editor and co-executive producer of QUEER FOR FEAR: THE HISTORY OF QUEER HORROR, executive produced by Bryan Fuller. The show is currently streaming on Shudder and was nominated for an Emmy.

In 2015, he edited 54: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and is now on Blu-Ray and VOD including iTunes, Amazon, and Vudu. This new version of the 1998 film includes 44 minutes of footage not seen in the theatrical release and it took six months to recut, restore and reconstruct.

In 2009, David wrote, directed and co-edited the award-winning narrative feature film PORNOGRAPHY: A THRILLER. Selected by over 25 film festivals, PORNOGRAPHY won multiple awards before its US theatrical release and is now available on DVD, VOD and Digital HD.

David lives in Koreatown, Los Angeles with his partner, motion graphics artist Craig Smith (who contributed over 350 shots to BOORMAN AND THE DEVIL), works out a few times a week, loves Nine Inch Nails and strongly questions why anyone would try to remake VIDEODROME.
